A history of the causes and first phases of the Korean War, students will examine the Korean War in the context of the Cold War, and as the first true test of the newly established United Nations Organization. Also provides background information for a geopolitical study of the current situation (Korea divided into North and South, technically still in a state of war), and the role that Russia, China, Japan, and the US have on the Korean Peninsula.
