Education

Ages 12 to 17
School subjects
This documentary is a way for young people to learn more about the diversity of First Nations and their lands. The story of this young Inuit woman and the testimonials from members of her community can lead students to ask questions about the challenges faced by Canada’s Aboriginal peoples, e.g.: What role does modernity play? What are they doing to preserve their heritage? The teacher can wind up the conversation by asking everyone to think about the importance of his or her own roots.
