Education

Ages 13 to 16
School subjects
The story of Kaspar Hauser raises fundamental issues in philosophy, psychology, and sociology. Ask students to briefly research Hauser's life, then ask them to reflect in groups on the notion of nature vs. nurture. Alternately, assign a written essay on the differences in the ways adults and children perceive the world, and how our understanding of the world around is us shaped.
