Dans ce court métrage d'animation, le réalisateur Chris Landreth (Ryan, Oscar du meilleur court métrage d'animation 2004), utilise une maladresse assez fréquente en société – oublier le nom d’une connaissance – comme point de départ d’une troublante incursion dans les méandres de l’inconscient. Inspiré de la célèbre émission de télé américaine Password, le film présente une « brochette de personnalités » animées, sans compter la mère de Charles et son ancienne gardienne, qui tentent l’impossible pour l’amener à se rappeler ce nom. Charles abdique finalement et s’abandonne à cette malencontreuse situation.

A comedic and experimental animated short that follows the psychological journey of director Chris Landreth as he attempts to remember a friend’s name at a party. Appropriate for classroom discussions and research projects related to animation, writing, experimental art, media studies, and psychology. Examine how metaphor, imagery, symbolism, tone, setting, and other elements are used in the film. What ideas do you think the film is exploring? Pick one of the authors depicted in the short and analyze, in-depth, their role, representation, and significance.
