Pose the questions: How do people express love and affection? What kinds of kisses are not romantic? How does kissing figure in different religions or cultures? What are some of the most well-known kisses in literature, movies or art? Direct students’ attention to the representation of how kissing effects the heart and brain. Discuss what consequences might arise if babies are not kissed or given affection. Ask the class to write poems using scientific language to describe the physiological effects of kissing.
