School subjects
Have film students assess: effect of music on mood and setting (who is Tanya Tagaq?); effect of cinematographic techniques in capturing the North; and the shaping of the narrative. Have Social Studies and Geography students examine the effect of Western cultures on the Aboriginal peoples, history of governance of Nunavut, and especially Arctic sovereignty issues. Have students research effects of Arctic water warming, and assess remedial measures to date.
