Students will learn how the onset of WWII accelerated Canada’s shift from an agricultural to an industrial economy. Students will analyze and discuss the concept of “total war” and the importance of natural resources and industry in winning the war; the history of the convoy system as part of overall Allied strategy, the rise of the Royal Canadian Navy and Canada’s role in the Battle of the Atlantic will also be examined.
