Uri Kranot

Michelle and Uri Kranot’s work has expanded beyond traditional animation, fusing painting, drawing and new technologies into contemporary experiences. Their work is frequently characterized by a poetic sensibility and fragmented narratives exploring past and present, fact and fiction.

The Kranots first gained recognition with works such as Nothing Happens, Songbird, How Long Not Long, Black Tape and Hollow Land. They have been honoured with the top industry awards, including the Grand Jury Prize for Best VR Immersive Work at the 77th Biennale di Venezia, the Fipresci Prize at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, a place on the Oscars® shortlist, and the Danish Arts Foundation award for the performing arts. Both are members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
