Patricio Henríquez

TV director in his country, Henriquez settled in Montreal after coup d’etat in Chile in 1973. From 1980 to 1993, he worked for Radio-Quebec and directed dozens of TV programs (for Magazine Nord-Sud). Later, Henriquez founds his own production company, Macumba International, and directed the films, 11 de septiembre de 1973: el último combate de Salvador Allende (1998) and Imágenes de una dictadura (1998), that won dozens of awards all over the world. While continue to make remarkable films independently, i.e., You Don’t Like the Truth: 4 Days in Guantanamo (2010), Henriquez has co-produced five feature-length documentary films with the NFB since 1996: Les Filles aux allumettes (1996), The Dark Side of the White Lady (2006), Under the Hood, a Voyage into the World of Torture (2008), Uyghurs, Prisoners of the Absurd (2014), and Waiting for Raif (2022).
