Linus Kasudluak

Linus Kasudluak was one of eight teenagers from Inukjuak who documented their final year of high school in Inuuvunga: I Am Inuk, I Am Alive, a participatory media initiative undertaken by the NFB in 2004. Mentored by professionals from Montreal’s EyeSteelFilm, the young participants/observers fashioned a coming-of-age video journal detailing daily life and addressing a broad range of issues confronting their community, including youth suicide and cultural upheaval. Also on the team: Bobby Echalook, Sarah Idlout, Laura Iqaluk, Willia Ningeok, Caroline Ningiuk, Dora Ohaituk and Rita-Lucy Ohaituk.

    Dans ce long métrage documentaire, huit jeunes adolescents inuit posent leur regard de cinéaste sur la vie contemporaine dans le Nord canadien et proposent un compte rendu pénétrant sur le passage à l'âge adulte à une époque de confusion et de désagrégation culturelle.
