Throughout July and August 2009, more than 100 children aged 8 and up took part in the NFB Mediatheque's week-long SUMMER DAY DREAMS animation camps. Each five-day session offered campers an imaginative theme for creative inspiration, such as The Day I Went Back in Time or The Day I Joined The Circus. Participants learned about the filmmaking process and explored a variety of animation techniques including pixillation, clay animation and scratching on 35 mm film. Working in teams, campers brought their original animated creations to life for a premiere on the big screen at the NFB Cinema, a selection of which are presented here for your enjoyment.
