Melanie Jackson is a Métis/Saulteaux producer and director with ties to the Sakimay First Nation in Saskatchewan. Her credits include Vistas: Dancers of the Grass, an animated short inspired by Indigenous hoop dancing, and Wapos Bay, a multi-episode stop-motion animation series recounting the adventures of children in a northern Cree community. The series has aired across North America in four language versions: Cree, English, French and Inuktitut. Jackson was one of the producers on Wapos Bay: Long Goodbyes, an animated feature based on the same characters.
